I guess that not feeling very good helps when you want to lose a little weight because I am not feeling well so there fore not eating a whole lot due to very little appetite. So hopefully that will help me to remember to keep eating less and working out a whole lot more. Hopefully everyone is remembering to workout a little and eating less and/or at least healthier.

Good Luck everyone and keep up the good work!

I have chosen to get healthy and if I loose weight while doing it, great :D
The kids and I just got brand new bikes, as well as a trailer to pull Brittany in until she can ride her bike better (tougher than I thought it would be to tow her) :O lol
Well I know we can do this and now that I know how to post, I should be better at it!
Good nite all!

So when I was reading my facebook I seen that on a friends post a thing called couch to 5k which is something that I am going to try to do www.fromcouchto5k.com it sounds pretty interesting I have not read the whole site yet but I am going to keep reading it. I do have to say that I really have a hard time working out when I am at my house in California because of the heat but I am really going to try hard and hope that our whole family keeps working toward a healthy lifestyle also.

My Challenge to You

I want us to all take a second and think about what we do in a day.

I think most of us can agree that we waste a lot of time sleeping in, watching TV, playing video games, surfing the internet, etc. Now I'm not asking anyone to stop doing these things, but I am going to ask you to sacrifice 20 to 30 minutes, five days a week, to devote to a walk.

Walking is by far my favorite exercise; I think it is because I'm not athletic, I'm not super strong, and I don't have a ton of endurance. Walking doesn't require any of those. When I get done with a walk I feel accomplished, energized, and happy. Plus I see results, my butt and legs get sleeker and tighter when I stick with walking. Heidi knows what I'm talking about.

I also looked up some benefits of walking:
1. Walking prevents type 2 diabetes.
2. Walking strengthens your heart if you're male.
3. Walking strengthens your heart if you're female.
4. Walking is good for your brain.
5. Walking is good for your bones.
6. Walking helps alleviate symptoms of depression.
7. Walking reduces the risk of breast and colon cancer.
8. Walking improves fitness.
9. Walking in short bouts improves fitness, too!
10. Walking improves physical function.

Walking has endless benefits for all of us. So I challenge and encourage all of you (and me) to walk five miles a week!

Love you all

Walkathon/Runathon

I am hoping this blog will help all of us get in better physical condition...I am hoping we can all take a few minutes and write what our quarterly goals are with exercise and weight control. I am hoping to do the walk/run athon from Odell to Hood River next year on the 4th of July...but I am hoping we can work on a consist basis to get in better condition. We all seem to be struggling with weight and lack of exercise. I would love to here what you are doing to get into better shape...please share your ideas...love mom

Purpose of the blog....

We are hoping to use this blog for the sole purpose of encouragement for each other to be able to have a healthier lifestyle and keep in touch while doing that. We encourage everyone to log on and put your recipes down, something that has worked for you or just a little bit of words of wisdom/encouragement.
Before, during and after pictures are highly encouraged, pictures of foods that you make or try, please don't be shy, our goal is to have everyone post on here a minimum of once a week or more if you feel the need to, so basically this is going to be our family journal.

GOOD LUCK AND PLEASE USE THIS BLOG AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
